LAS VEGAS -- Dillard's is the latest anchor store to join The Shops at Summerlin, the Howard Hughes Corporation announced Monday.

The Shops at Summerlin will feature more than 125 stores and restaurants in an open-air shopping environment near the 215 Beltway. Dillard's will build a two-story store which is scheduled to open in 2014. This will be the company's fourth Las Vegas location.

"A long-time favorite of shoppers in the Las Vegas Valley and a strong retail brand, Dillard's is a great addition to the growing anchor line-up of The Shops at Summerlin," said Kevin Orrock, president of Summerlin for the Howard Hughes Corporation.

According to Dillard's spokeswoman Julie Bull, the store's opening will create about 200 jobs.

"Things are looking up for Las Vegas and things are looking up for Dillard's," Bull said. "We are excited. It's a very good location. We believe it will be a premier destination and love operating in centers like the one in Summerlin."

Macy's signed on as the first anchor store in September.

The Shops at Summerlin project will provide 1,700 jobs during construction and 2,000 when fully open in late 2014, said Tom Warden of Hughes Corp.
