Street Racing Crash Kills One Person

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Friday night at North Maryland Parkway near Bonanza Road.

Metro says a 1999 Acura Integra was traveling north on Maryland Parkway when the driver lost control and struck a light pole shortly after 9:00 p.m. 

Two passengers were transported to University Medical Center with one dying at the hospital and the other passenger and driver in serious condition.

Investigators believe the driver may have been street racing with another unknown vehicle.

This is the 97th traffic related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
