Police Chief Could Face Charges

Posted: Updated:

BOULDER CITY, NV. -- The Boulder City Police Chief could soon face felony charges for how he handled a recent visit from the biker group, the Mongols.

The Boulder City Council voted Tuesday to move forward with an investigation of Police Chief Thomas Finn.

Finn is accused of sending out an email to city and police officials asking them to delete any conversations dealing with the Mongols.

According to the Mongols attorney, deleting public documents is illegal.

Finn released the following statement Tuesday night:

"Regarding the 'toxic leadership environment' allegation, the greatest leadership challenges I have had to resolve through personal intervention have, ironically, involved infighting between individual members of the BCPPA. Although most of the them make me immensely proud of their level of commitment and dedication to 'The Job,' a small handful provide challenges that test all my experience, training, education and skills."

The Nevada Department of Investigations is expected to look into the allegations. If they find that any of the accusations are true, it's possible the police chief could be charged.
