LAS VEGAS -- The head of the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada has resigned, the organization announced Monday.
Dane S. Claussen, who has served as executive director since January 2011, cited personal reasons for his resignation, which is effective Jan. 31. According to the ACLU of Nevada, Claussen is also planning on leaving Las Vegas immediately.
"I will be leaving the ACLU of Nevada in the excellent hands of the board of directors and staff, and will look forward to following the ACLU of Nevada's work for years to come," Claussen said in a statement.
ACLU of Nevada President Robert Chester said the organization will begin a search to replace Claussen.
