Electronics Top the Wish Lists of Most Kids

LAS VEGAS -- Some of the hottest gifts for the holiday season are electronics.

A recent survey from Nielsen Company found that the most wanted item for kids between the ages of 6 and 12 is the new i-Pad mini, which is smaller than the first i-Pad making it easier for little hands to hold. In fact, Apple products dominate the must-have electronics list, four of the top five are Apple items.

The second most sought after gift is the Wii U. The gaming system is so rare 8 News NOW could not find it at any store in southern Nevada. The survey found 39 percent of kids wanted the Wii U.

Retailers are seeing more and more people lining up to get the hot gadgets in their electronics departments.

"We are much busier this year. It is a big year for electronics," Target employee Ahmed Abdullah said.

Abdullah said he was making it through the Black Friday rush on as much caffeine has he can take.
