More Shops and Restaurants Moving into Tivoli Village

LAS VEGAS -- The outdoor shopping center Tivoli Village is about to celebrate its second anniversary and has just added a number of new retailers and restaurants.

Nine new stores and restaurants will be opening by the new year. National brands like Brighton and Ethan Allen and small local businesses occupy the new spaces, including Faith Lozich's jewelry store.

"This is our first shot at it, and we've been successful. So far, it is good," Lozich said.

"We had a bit of an explosion of new tenants which is very, very exciting," General Manager of Tivoli Village Tonia Chafetz said.

Despite the success, there are still some challenges for the complex. Some businesses have left, including Petra Greek Tavera and The Dog House. Growth is also not moving as quickly as everyone involved would like.

"It is a little bit slower than we would all like, but we are actually very pleased with our progress especially over the last six months," Chafetz said.

Just as businesses leave, others are already moving in, which is something Tivoli Village customers say is a good sign.

"As soon as these shops start booming, it is going to be the hot spot, definitely," Baylee Turner, who lives in Summerlin, said.

It is also good news for locals looking for jobs. The new Mexican restaurant, Cantina Laredo, hired 140 workers just last week. In all, about 1,000 people are now employed at Tivoli Village.

"Our tenants are excited, and we are very excited to move forward. We feel very good about Las Vegas and our future here," Chafetz said.

Shoppers will also be seeing some temporary businesses in the store fronts. The so-called pop-up businesses are expected to be there through the holidays selling everything from jewelry to home decor.
