Holiday Displays Around the Las Vegas Valley

Las Vegas may be known for its lights along the Las Vegas Strip but over the holiday season, there are a few other light and holiday displays worth seeing.

Opportunity Village's Magical Forest is celebrating more than 20 years with concessions and winter-themed carnival games. It opens Nov. 22. Click here for the festive details.

Experience the annual Holiday Cactus Garden at Ethel's Chocolate Wonderland. There are more than half-a-million lights on display. Click here for details. Admission is free.

Glittering Lights will offer a drive-thru experience where visitors can see millions of twinkling lights on display at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Click here for details. The admission cost is $15 per vehicle Monday - Thursday and $20 Friday - Sunday. Opens Nov. 15.

Sunset Park is hosting the Sunset Wonderland Holiday Festival. It features an ice skating rink, holiday activities for all ages, photo opportunities with Santa, a Ferris wheel, horse & buggy rides around the lake and holiday performances. It opens Dec. 6 and runs through Dec. 22. It's located at 2601 E. Sunset Road and is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the weekends. Admission is free. There is an $8 charge to ice skate which includes skate rental. Click here for more information, including applications for tree decorating.

Gilcrease Orchard will be offering horse drawn sleigh rides from Nov. 29 through Dec. 23. The rides will operate Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The ride time is approximately 20 minutes. Click here for more information.

Springs Preserve if offering train rides with Santa. He will read holiday stories and hand out candy canes as the "Polar Express" goes on a special 20-minute journey. The train runs on Dec. 23 and 24th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $3 for members and $5 for non-members with Springs Preserve general admission.

You can also check out the holiday exhibit  featuring an 18-foot holiday tree starting Dec. 6 at the Botanical Garden at Bellagio. There are 2,500 ornaments and 7,000 lights on the tree. There is also a walk-through snow globe, a life-size candy house, chocolate reindeer and polar bears. The event is free.
