LAS VEGAS -- An elderly woman has died after being hit by a car about 7:30 p.m. Friday on 13th Street just south of Carson Avenue.
The woman died at the scene, according to Metro Police. Ernesto Castro, 83, was also hit by the car and was taken to UMC Trauma in critical condition.
"Pedestrians, cross where people can see you," Sgt. Richard Strader of Metro Police said. "I mean if you look, this intersection has crosswalks all the way around it and there is no reason why a pedestrian shouldn't go to that marked cross walk where people are expecting you to be."
The 62-year-old driver didn't suffer any injuries.
The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
This is the 95th traffic related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
