LAS VEGAS -- A man is custody in connection with a bizarre incident at a bus stop Wednesday morning.
According to police, two girls of the ages 6 and 7 were standing at a bus stop near Arville Street and Desert Inn Road when the suspect walked up, grabbed one of the girls and tried to pull her pants down. The girl screamed. The parents, who were just around the corner, rushed back to the area.
Police identified the man as Abdul Jumaalkam, 20. He was arrested and booked on a count of lewdness with a minor under the age 14.
According to police, Jumaalkam tried to grab another child but the parents were able to stop him. However, the suspect was able to get away. The adults called police and the Clark County School District.
When police arrived, they spoke with witnesses, and one witness was able to point out the suspect in nearby Cashman Park where he was taken into custody.
