A new study is getting underway at UCLA, that should one day make breast cancer treatment a little less difficult for some women who become depressed.
UCLA researchers received a five-million dollar grant to discover which breast cancer patients are likelier to suffer depression.. and then seek ways to prevent it.
They will ask 300 volunteers to take part.
The researchers theorize that inflammation caused by breast cancer treatment can lead to sleep disturbance and depression.
Researchers hope the study will lead to better treatments and prevention of those problems in breast cancer patients.
