LAS VEGAS -- Clark County fire officials say one person was found dead at the scene of a fire.
The two-alarm fire broke out around 7 p.m. Saturday at a residence on Tropicana Avenue near Jones Boulevard.
Neighbors say a disabled woman lives inside the home. They fear she did not make it out safely, but officials have not yet confirmed that the body they found belongs to that woman.
It took crews twelve minutes to put the fire out once they arrived on scene. A total of two apartments were hit by the fire. The damage is estimated at around $100,000.
Metro has about 1,100 patrol officers, but not all of them are wearing body cameras. 8 News Now's Vanessa Murphy talks to the Deputy Chief in charge of the program to see who is wearing the cameras and why the process is slow-going.More>>
