LAS VEGAS -- Two 11-year-olds have been arrested for their involvement in animal cruelty that led to the death of six newborn kittens, Metro Police said.

Neighbors told police on Oct. 9 they saw the two juveniles throwing rocks against a building in the area of the 9600 block of West Russell Road. It was later discovered they were throwing the rocks at a cat giving birth. Animal Control officers took the kittens to an animal hospital but none survived their injuries.

Metro Police took the two preteens into custody Thursday. They were booked into Clark County Juvenile Hall. They each face seven counts of animal cruelty.
