LAS VEGAS - Vice President Joe Biden will be in Las Vegas Thursday. Mr. Biden's visit comes days before early voting starts Saturday.
The vice president comes to Las Vegas after a campaign event in Reno Wednesday. He will be speaking at the Culinary Training Academy at 710 W. Lake Mead Boulevard. The Culinary Union Local 225, a partner of the academy, is a supporter of the Obama/Biden ticket. Additionally, the academy's CEO Steven Horsford is a Democratic candidate for Congress.
The vice president is no stranger to Nevada. He's made several campaign trips to Nevada in recent weeks, but the Republicans have also had supporters come to Nevada to stump for Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan.
Obama campaign officials say they are hoping the vice president's visit will help sway undecided voters.
"We want to make sure all of the voters are aware of what the issues are between the two candidates, what they can do for the people, what they are offering, and I think having VP Biden come is another example of that," said Obama Nevada campaign spokesperson Aoife McCarthy.
"They know their policies have left Nevada worse off than any other state in the nation," countered Romney Nevada campaign spokesman Mason Harrison. "They know they have a lot of work here to do in Nevada in order to have any hopes of winning here."
Mitt Romney's campaign says numerous visits by the vice president and president are needed, because they say the current administration worries what the last four years have done to Nevadans.
Biden was originally scheduled to speak Tuesday, but postponed his trip. Doors open for the Biden event at 9:30 a.m. You do need a ticket, but if you obtained a ticket for the event Tuesday, the campaign will still honor it Thursday.
