DO PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS REALLY "EXPIRE"?

A pharmacy professor at the University of California - San Francisco tested eight different drugs that were past their expiration date; some up to 40 years past!
The medications still contained about 90% of the active ingredients, which is within government guidelines.
The study author suggests the food and drug administration might want to re-think expiration dates.
It's important to note that the drugs in the study were in their original, un-opened containers.
