Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting at the Pinewood Apartments near Swenson Street and Twain Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the call about 12:40 a.m. According to police, a man appeared to have been killed after being shot several times.

A group of males and females had been arguing before the gun shots had been fired and were seen running from the area, the police said.

Metro's Special Weapons and Tactics -- or SWAT -- team is assisting homicide detectives with serving a search warrant. As of Wednesday afternoon, no one has been arrested.

The man's identity will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office after his next-of-kin has been notified.

Anyone with any information on the shooting is asked to call Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit its website. Tips directly leading to an arrest or an indictment processed through Crime Stoppers may result in a cash reward.
