LAS VEGAS -- Pat Diskin Elementary School is without air conditioning and will not be repaired by the start of class Wednesday, the Clark County School District announced Tuesday evening.
Parents and guardians of students attending Diskin Elementary are given two options:
* Buses will pick students up on their normal schedule and transport them to C.H. Decker Elementary School, where the students will remain with their classes and teachers from Diskin while they conduct their learning in air conditioned space.
Decker Elementary is located at 3850 Redwood St., near Flamingo Road and Rainbow Boulevard.
At the end of the school day, buses will return students to their normal stops. In the event a student does not ride the bus to school, parents are asked to transport their students to Decker Elementary School where Diskin staff will greet them and show them to the appropriate areas. Diskin students who have breakfast and/or lunch at school will be served at Decker.
* If a guardian chooses to keep their Diskin Elementary student home on Wednesday, Sept. 5, they will be allowed an excused absence for the day. If a parent chooses to keep their student home we ask they call the office to report the absence at 799-5930.
