HENDERSON -- The Duran family is relieved 17-year-old Melissa Duran is home after police say she was abducted Friday morning.

Henderson Police arrested 25-year-old Alejandro Manuel Sanchez and 30-year-old Cesar Sanchez for kidnapping and extortion. Both are being held without bail.

Melissa's father Alejandro Duran says he knows how rare it is for a kidnapping to end safely, and says he can't thank police enough for rescuing his daughter. "They do a really good job, I'm very happy," said Alejandro Duran. "The police department, they do a really good job."

Police say the two men knocked on Duran's front door and grabbed Melissa when she answered.

"I heard the door open and my other sister screaming," said Melissa's 11-year-old brother Kevin Duran. "So I ran down stares with a baseball bat and then I saw two guys taking my sister and dragging her on the ground."

Kevin says he did his best to save his older sister. "I was going to try to hit one of the guys, but he reached behind his back as if he had a gun and said don't come closer don't call the police."

Police say Melissa's captors called her parents and demanded ransom money. Police worked all day Friday into early Saturday before finding Melissa in an apartment near Eastern Avenue and Stewart Avenue.

"SWAT Officers entered another apartment and found Melissa bound, blindfolded and alone in that apartment," says Henderson Police Chief Patrick Moers:

Melissa was returned to her family alive almost 24 hours after police say she was kidnapped.

"I want to say thank you to everyone who prayed for my daughter," said Melissa's father Alejandro.

Police say they were able to track down the suspects after finding the getaway car near Sunrise Mountain. Police say the men knew Melissa's father through his landscaping business. They say they are still investigating why she was targeted and who else may have been involved.
