Shade Tree Kids Receive Free School Supplies

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS - Kids staying at Shade Tree Shelter will head back to school with the supplies and clothes they need.

The Shade Tree held its annual Back to School Shopping Day Saturday. Approximately 70 children staying at the shelter received school supplies.

All the items are new, and the kids got to choose what they wanted.

"It's difficult enough to go to school or not even have a home, and sometimes even a second parent around," said Shade Tree volunteer Galit Rozen. "I think it makes a huge difference in their confidence on the first day of school."

Students also walked away with school uniforms. Last year, Shade Tree sheltered 1,000 kids who attended school in Clark County.
