LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Las Vegas saw more visitors this June compared with the same month last year, although gambling was down about 8 percent in Clark County.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said about 3.4 million visitors came to Las Vegas in June. That's 2.1 percent up from the same month last year, when 3.3 million people visited Sin City.
There were more guest rooms available this May, and citywide occupancy rates remained mostly flat at 88 percent.
Average hotel rates were up 8.5 percent to $110 a night.
Clark County gambling revenues of $707 million were down year-over-year, with a 4.5 percent drop on the Las Vegas Strip and a 23 percent decline on the Boulder Strip.
Southern Nevada tourism is up 2.4 percent so far this year.
