Nevada Casino Revenue Down 6 Percent in June

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- State officials said Nevada casino revenue dropped 6 percent in the month of June after bringing in $833 million.

Nevada Gaming Control Board officials said Clark County winnings were down almost 8 percent. Las Vegas Strip casinos report a nearly 5 percent year-over-year drop in revenue after bringing in $484 million. Downtown Las Vegas brought in $34 million, for a 13 percent drop.

Washoe County casinos had a much better month. Reno brought in $50 million, more than 9 percent up from the same time last year, while the county overall saw a 7 percent jump in winnings.

South Lake Tahoe revenue of $17 million was up 17 percent.

The state of Nevada collected $38 million in taxes on the June revenue, which is 27 percent down from last year.
