LAS VEGAS -- Dozens of children in foster care in the Las Vegas valley are in need of back packs and school supplies.
Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, is sponsoring a back-to-school event on Sunday, Aug. 19 where foster children will be treated to haircuts and other salon services at Square Salon at 1225 So. Fort Apache Boulevard. The children will leave the event with a back pack filled with school supplies.
According to CASA, it still needs about 75 back packs for elementary students in the third, fourth and fifth grades. The back packs are needed by Aug. 14. Square Salon will give a 30 percent discount on retail products as a thank you to those who donate a back pack. The back packs or money can be dropped off at the following locations:
Square Salon, 1225 Ft. Apache Road (255-7050)
CASA program office, 601 N. Pecos (455-4306)
Here is a list of suggested items needed:

2 - 3 erasers
3 single-subject spiral notebooks (wide-ruled and approx. 70 ct.)
