Estranged Husband Facing Murder Charge

LAS VEGAS -- A criminal complaint has been filed against Troy Richard White, 44, in the shooting death of his wife, Echo Lucas White, 29.

Troy White is facing charges of burglary while in the possession of a deadly weapon, murder with the use of a deadly weapon and attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

Family members said the couple had separated four months ago. Last Friday, Echo White was shot to death in front of her five children in her house in the 300 block of Altamira Road, near Buffalo and Alta drives.

According to a Metro Police affidavit, Echo and Troy White had three children together and were married for about nine years. She also had two other children from a previous marriage.   

Mother Speaks About Slain Daughter and Estranged Husband

A 28-year-old man who had been visiting her house at the time of the shooting was also shot. He was last listed in stable condition. He was dating Echo White for a short time, according to the affidavit. He also told police that Troy White had refused to grant his wife a divorce and that he had threatened the boyfriend with violence.

Police noted in the affidavit they had been called on Troy White several times. In the affidavit, the boyfriend told police that Echo White told him that her husband had beat her up numerous times and raped her.

Before his arrest in Yavapai County, Ariz., Troy White was last seen leaving the house carrying a semi-automatic handgun, according to police at the time.

He is awaiting extradition to Nevada. The complaint was filed through the Las Vegas Justice Court.
