Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- A 50-year-old Reno man is dead after being struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene, along Boulder Highway near Harmon Avenue Tuesday night.

According to Metro police, just before 11:00pm the victim was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk near Eastside Cannery when he was struck by a 2004 Nissan Sentra. The victim was transported to Sunrise Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim's girlfriend has identified him as Frank Martini.

The driver of the Sentra, 44-year-old David Nieto, drove away from the scene but was later located by police. He was arrested for DUI and Hit and Run.

Metro police had Boulder Highway shut down in both directions during their investigation, but they reopened all lanes just before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

This is the 63rd traffic related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction in 2012.
