I-Team: Mother Sentenced for Daughter's Starvation Death

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- A mother who allowed her 2-year old daughter to starve to death will spend at least 15 years behind bars.

The murder of Adacelli Snyder, who's malnourished and neglected body was found in a squalid trailer, prompted child welfare reform efforts in the Las Vegas valley.

The Clark County Department of Family Services had a long history with the family but closed its case a year before Adacelli's death in 2005.

Before the court Wednesday morning, her mother, Charlene Snyder, said she was very sorry for what had happened.  Under the terms of a plea agreement, Snyder faces between 15 and 40 years in prison.
