Hyundai-Kia America Inc. is recalling certain Kia Rios from the 2006-08 model years because of a problem with the front airbag sensor.
The company said the front seat occupant sensor mat can crack, which could cause the system to fail to recognize when a child is sitting in the front passenger seat.
In the event of a crash, the airbag could deploy, potentially causing serious injuries to a child seated there.
Kia will notify owners and dealers will replace the sensor free of charge. Owners may contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542 or click here.
