Today's Wednesday's Child makes friends easily...and that's all fine 'n' good...but it's a permanent family he really wants. Dave Courvoisier introduces us to Elijah.
On a nice warm day at Lorenzi Park, Elijah took some time out to show me a little something about nerf football.
Not just good at sports, Elijah is a well-rounded young man.
"He's just a wonderful kids, 'loves to go to church, he loves to play sports, and he makes friends really easily....very social," says Gary, his supervisor at the St. Jude's Ranch for Children in Boulder City, where Elijah lives.
Gary keeps mentioning how well Elijah relates to others.
"He's very family oriented...and it's something that I stress...and I have no problem with him..he's easily re-directed. He's a great kid...he gets along well with everybody," adds Gary.
When I asked Elijah about a future family, he had some clear thoughts what he'd most like:
"...have a loving family..."
Elijah had the highest GPA of any student on the St. Jude's campus last year. He's got a big heart, and hopes for a forever family.
"Well, he's a wonderful kid, he really is...he's just great, I mean, if I had the room, I would have him myself, I really would...he's a wonderful kid he really is," admits Gary.
Elijah is legally free for adoption, and would like to be able to stay in touch with some siblings who live nearby.
If you'd like to start the process of adopting Elijah, call the local office of the Adoption Exchange right now at 436-6335.
