Almost twelve, and almost too smart for her own good. Today's Wed's Child is a sharp kid with a bright future. All she needs is a permanent family.
Julie feels right at home here at the pottery shop. She's a "creative".
"My favorite subject will always be, and always been art," says Julie.
She's a good singer too, but she doesn't let her traditional studies fall behind...she has big career plans.
"No, I wanna be like maybe a doctor or a lawyer," admits Julie.
Like so many young people we profile on Wed's Child, the only uncertainty...the only hold-up in their development is the unknown...the lack of permanency.
"She's expressed an interest in having a 2-parent home, she would love to have a mom and a dad. She also loves pets...she's expressed an interest in wanting to stay in Las Vegas, or Las Vegas area, she does have siblings here as well....that would be important to her to keep those connections," says Vickie, a recruitment specialist for Clark County's Division of Family Services.
These are things Julie has thought about too.
"A family that is loving, caring, and will always have time for me, and that we can go out and do stuff, like family things." says Julie.
Any family would find a wonderful young lady in Julie.
"My hope is that we will find permanency for miss Julie really soon. I think she's obviously a beautiful little girl. She's amazing, she's articulate," adds Vickie.
