LAS VEGAS -- Families in a northeast Las Vegas neighborhood were asked to stay in their homes Wednesday morning while police investigated a suspicious package.

Metro Police discovered the package in a white pick-up truck around 6 a.m. during a traffic stop near Nellis Boulevard and Owens Avenue.

The package was removed from the vehicle and taken away for further investigation. It turned out to be a gas can attached to a fuel pump.
