LAS VEGAS -- Presidents Day is a three-day weekend for a lot of people. Stores around southern Nevada are hoping all the people enjoying a holiday will be spending money.
Stores like The Gap, H&M, and Macy's are offering deals. Shoppers were out in force looking for bargains.
"You can tell it is a holiday. Just look around and you have customers at the registers. They are at our racks shopping through the 30 to 80 percent merchandise. So, it feels good on Presidents Day with the traffic we have in the store," Damon Benefield with Macy's said.
The discounts in some stores were bigger than what people would find on Black Friday. DailyFinance.com calls Presidents Day "the Black Friday of February." The biggest difference could be the hours. Most stores are open regular hours. Unlike Black Friday, when stores are open early and stay open late.
