LAS VEGAS -- A unique scholarship is funneling Clark County students from the classroom to the kitchen.
The Epicurean Charitable Foundation scholarship is available to high school seniors in the Clark County School district who want to pursue hospitality and culinary careers.
MGM Vice President of Food and Beverage Sean DiCicco said many of the student chefs could end up working at a resort property.
"We are trying to teach and build culinary and food and beverage professionals. Ultimately, I'd like to see these students work for us in the future," DiCicco said.
The scholarships range from $28,000 to $48,000, and this year's deadline to apply is March 2.
