Parents Warned of Possible Predator

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS - Lisa, a parent of a student at Faiss Middle School, received a shocking phone call from the school principal Thursday afternoon.

"A male in the vehicle has allegedly been attempting to lure children in the automobile," the message said.

Administrators from Faiss Middle School and Wright Elementary School contacted parents after a 7th grade girl reported a man tried to abduct her.

"Very creepy, very scary, it's in our hands right now," Lisa said. "We, as the public, have it in our hands right now to do something about this."

A letter addressed to community members says the alleged driver was in a silver PT Cruiser and has been roaming southwest valley schools.

"Apparently, this happened after the basketball game last night from what I understand, and you know the cheerleaders… everybody's waiting for their parents to come pick them up," Lisa said. "That could have been my niece. That could have been anybody."

Lisa's son Trey says he's in the same class as the girl who made the claims.

"She said when she was walking home from the basketball game, he pulled up next to her, and got out of the car and she just ran," he said. "She was scared. I was scared."

While the investigation continues, administrators and parents say it's a good time to remind children about walking home safely and not talking to strangers.

"They got to find him. They have to get him off the street," Lisa said.

Clark County School District Police could not be reached for comment.
