Free Help for Those Facing Foreclosure

LAS VEGAS -- Homeowners struggling to avoid foreclosure are being offered free help in a few  upcoming events.

Ask-a-Lawyer sessions are offered on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. The next sessions will be on Feb. 14 and Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. until noon, at the Civil Law Self-Help Center located in the Regional Justice Center at 200 Lewis Avenue. Sign up begins at 8 a.m. on the day of the session.

Another resource is the free two-hour foreclosure mediation class, held every Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This class offers basics on how to prepare for mediation. The classes are at the William S. Boyd School of Law at 4505 S. Maryland Pkwy. The next class is Thursday, Feb. 9.
