Metro Releases Names of Officers Involved in Shooting

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police have released the names of the two officers involved in the shooting of a man in downtown Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The officers have been identified as Officer Steven Williams who has been employed with Metro since September 2008 and Officer Keegan Doty who has been with Metro since April 2008.

The shooting happened near Fremont and 21st Streets around 5 p.m. Police say a man began swinging a knife at them as officers attempted to approach him for jaywalking. The man was identified as 37-year-old Larry Barber. He is in critical condition at University Medical Center.
