LAS VEGAS -- A 17-year-old girl is dead after being shot at a house party in the early morning hours of Sunday.

According to family members, Betty Jean Pinkney was at a house party on Tattersall Pl. near Alexander Rd. and Lamb Blvd. when two men started arguing and shots were fired.

Pinkney was killed an another woman, sleeping in an upstairs bedroom, was hit in the chest but is expected to survive.

On Sunday night, students at Desert Pines High School, held a vigil. Pinkney was a senior on the track team.
