I-Team: State Senator Resigning from Day Job

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- State Senator Mo Denis is resigning from his day job. It comes after a lawsuit was filed last month by a conservative legal group.

Nevada Policy Research Institute sued Denis claiming it was unconstitutional that he work for the state while having power as a legislator. Denis worked technical services at the Public Utilities Commission.

Denis tells 8 News NOW he's taking a job in the private sector for the "flexibility" required for his new state senate leadership position. Denis says his resignation has nothing to do with the NPRI lawsuit.
