SEARCHLIGHT, Nev. -- The National Park Service and Las Vegas police are investigating a double shooting that left a woman dead and a man wounded on the Nevada side of Lake Mohave.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area spokesman Andrew Munoz said a park visitor summoned authorities about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to Six Mile Cove, where rangers found the two people face-down in the sand.
The woman was dead, but the man was alive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was flown by helicopter to a hospital for treatment. Munoz says it appears the two were shot by another person.
Six Mile Cove is about three miles south of Cottonwood Cove on the Nevada side of Lake Mohave. The Colorado River reservoir separates the states of Arizona and Nevada.
