LAS VEGAS - The Fourth of July wrapped up with a bang Monday night with spectacular fireworks displays throughout the valley.
Station Casinos launched a series of fireworks from several of its properties. The fireworks were shot off from Aliante Station, Texas Station, Green Valley Ranch, Red Rock and the Fiesta Rancho.
Grucci orchestrated the show. They are the same experts who put together the fireworks for Las Vegas' New Year's Eve show.
Seventeen pyrotechnicians put in more than 700 man hours to prepare for the display. It took nine miles of wire to circuit the 63 firing batteries used to set off the show.
Meanwhile, for the second year, the City of Henderson hosted its Independence Day celebration at Basic High School.
The 18-minute fireworks show had a grand finish.
The event also featured concerts by The Randy Anderson Band, a local country group, and the classic rock tribute band The Downstrokes.
In exchange for use of the stadium, the city allowed the school's student clubs, organizations and sports teams to sell concession and keep the proceeds.
