LAS VEGAS -- Some rescued lovebirds now have a permanent sanctuary at a famous Las Vegan's home.
Animal Planet's documentary series "Confessions - Animal Hoarding" rescued the 200 birds from a home where the owners let them roam free and weren't giving them proper care.
Thursday, the birds arrived at Wayne Newton's Casa de Shenandoah where they will now share space with 75 other types of birds.
"We were contacted with Wayne Newton having all these incredible animals here at Casa de Shenandoah to bring the animals here and give them a nice, new home along with all the other type of exotic animals that we have here on the property," said Tricia McCrone, Wayne Newton's publicist.
Casa de Shenandoah will also provide on-site veterinarians to care for the lovebirds. The Animal Planet documentary profiling the journey of the birds will air in August.
