I-Team: Purrfect Auto Case May be Wrapping Up

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- A decision on whether or not to reward restitution money to 79 Purrfect Auto customers will not be decided until next week. But the person at the center of that investigation appeared in court Monday.

A sting back in 2006 identified four locations that charged for auto parts and services that were not provided. That resulted in a lawsuit that included 11 locations under the control of Shafik Hirji.

Prosecutors want to permanently ban Hirji from working in the auto repair business and asked for restitution for 79 customers. If approved, that would amount to more than half a million dollars.
