OXON HILL, Md. -- A Las Vegas boy made it into the final round of the 84th Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Dakota Jones was one of five spellers who seemingly had memorized the entire dictionary simply could not be stumped with any word tossed their way. He is a student at Hyde Park Middle School.

Finally, after 21 consecutive spellings without a miss, one of them finally flubbed a word. And then Jones misspelled "zanja" to end a remarkable run, and received a standing ovation.

Eventually eighth grader Sukanya Roy of Pennsylvania took home the trophy and $40,000 in cash and prizes in the 84th Scripps National Spelling Bee.
