HENDERSON, Nev. - A shelter volunteer drove 3,000 miles across the country to save a starved and neglected pit bull.

Adrianna the pit bull, now named Hope, traveled from Baltimore, Maryland to Henderson, Nevada. She's starting her recovery at the Seven Hills Animal Hospital. Her condition is so bad, she can barely lift her head. Char Baroni of the Shelter Pet Rescue Network agreed to take in Hope, along with four other dogs from Baltimore.

Kat, the volunteer from the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter in Virginia, drove the dogs cross country especially to get help for Hope.

This poor dog is going to need a lot of medical care. That means donations are needed to rescue the dog from death's door.

The Shelter Pet Rescue Network says sometimes there is a case that you just can't turn away. Hope is one of these special cases.

A network volunteer has already paid for transport and fostering of this emaciated girl with the hope she will get a second chance to be loved.
