New Outlet Center = New Job$

(July 12)--Eight million visitors are expected to be drawn to downtown Las Vegas when the Las Vegas Premium Outlets Center opens it's doors on August 1.

In addition, 800 people will be employed at the multi-million dollar shopping megaplex.

College Student Lisa Philips has been job hunting for almost a month, with no luck. "I'm just telling people, I speak Spanish, please take me! [But] I still don't get any callbacks," said Phillips.

Her luck changed at the Outlet's job fair. She will be one of those 800 new employees at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets. "They are going to call me Monday about orientation. I got a few offers today," said Phillips.

"This came at a perfect time," says 42-year old Judy Jackson. He has been unemployed for three years, and hopes the center will become her new place to shop and hopefully work.

One hundred twenty shops in the outlet mall will need to be staffed. See the complete list of stores .

The Fudgery will be new to Las Vegas. "What we do is combine entertainment with fudge making," says Johnny "JD" Dequair, Fudgery Manager. Dequair is searching for the best candidates. "15 to 20 people, that includes managers," said Dequair.

The Premium Outlets is hoped to attract 8 million people yearly, an $80-million shot at revitalizing downtown Las Vegas. "We are happy to come into the downtown area," says Dottie Montana, Outlets General Manager. The development of the property also created more than 300 construction jobs.
