LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas police have arrested a former police officer in a plot to kill his girlfriend.
Police say shortly after 7:00 p.m. on November 9, detectives arrested 42-year-old William Ronald Webb for trafficking in a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit murder, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Webb is accused of plotting to kill his girlfriend, attorney Nancy Quon, by giving her large amounts the GHB. Police say they do not know whether Quon was suicidal and involved in the plot.
Webb was arrested at the Green Valley Ranch parking lot, where he and Quon were living after a fire in their home in late October.
Quon was a prominent attorney in Las Vegas before becoming involved in HOA investigations carried out by the FBI. Quon is alleged to have funneled millions of dollars in bogus construction defect lawsuits.
Another person involved in the HOA investigation, former Metro Lieutenant Chris Van Cleef committed suicide shortly after the investigations came to light.
Police believe Webb may have tried to kill her as a way to claim insurance money for her children. It also may have been part of a suicide plan by Quon.
Webb was a Metro officer for 17 years and retired in 2008.
