AMARGOSA VALLEY, Nev. -- An Amargosa Valley grease rendering plant has given up and is moving to another location.
The I-Team has reported on neighbors battling with the operator of the grease pit, a Honey Wagon, mainly because of a foul stench the grease generated.
After stories about the smell and other violations at the plant, several state agencies got involved, cited the outfit for numerous violations and turned off the lights.
Thursday, owner Michael Kostelac notified the state Department of Environmental Protection that he has closed his doors and is moving elsewhere.
The state says it is working with Kostelac to make sure the plant doesn't leave an environmental mess behind.
