Dave Courvoisier anchors the 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. news. He grew up on an honest-to-goodness Midwestern farm-- the son of a 1st-generation German mother and a Swiss-immigrant father.  He attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana on a full-ride scholarship, graduated with a BS in education, and completed graduate work towards his MS as a graduate research assistant at Uof I.

Dave began his broadcast career at KCCC radio in Carlsbad, NM, then moved on to KEXO top-40 radio in Grand Junction, CO before he started his television career in Grand Jct. at KJCT.  Dave then worked at TV stations in West Lafayette, IN , Cape Girardeau, MO , and Greensboro, NC before coming to Las Vegas for his "first tour of duty" in 1985.

Dave had a successful stint for 13 years as the main anchor at another network-affiliated station in the Las Vegas market. During that time he distinguished himself with reports on issues relating to the plight of disadvantaged children, winning numerous local and national awards.

In 1998, Dave decided to move his family back to Cape Girardeau, MO, and an anchor job at KFVS-TV, one of the top-rated CBS affiliates in the country.  From 1998 to 2003 Dave was able to tend to family concerns related to aging parents.  During his 5 years in Cape Girardeau, Dave helped to form a new Chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.  He was also a board member of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), and was a parent-assistant at his daughter's elementary school computer lab.

In 2003 Dave returned to Las Vegas to become part of the prestigious news team at KLAS Eyewitness News.

Although dedicated to his work and the community where he lives, Dave considers his chief job to be that of father to his 3 daughters, ages 21, 18, and 15.  Dave's wife is a Registered Nurse, and specializes in hospice care.

Dave is an avid racquetball player, and enjoys tinkering with computers, social networking, reading, and web-authoring.  He's a member of the Desert Spring United Methodist Church, and the Society of Accredited Voice Over Artists.

"I'm lucky to get a second chance at a great career in one of the most dynamic cities in the nation," says Dave,  "...and so lucky to work at one of the truly great TV stations in the CBS family."
