Harry Reid Campaigns with Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - The reigning superstar of boxing, Manny Pacquaio, joined Senator Harry Reid at a campaign rally at Orr Middle School Friday night. Reid is in danger of losing his title on Tuesday in an election where many pundits say a number of incumbent politicians are unpopular.

With a seven-time world champion boxer by his side, Reid appeared ready for a fight against his opponent Sharron Angle. "My opponent said it is not her job to create jobs," Reid said. "What in the hell is her job then?"

Reid told the crowd Angle's positions are wrong for Nevada. "Can you imagine someone wanting to phase out Social Security, the most successful program in the history of the world," Reid asked. "She says the BP oil spill happened because oil was too regulated. How about that? She says that the banks taking advantage of us, Wall Street taking advantage of us, happened, listen to this, because they were too regulated."

Nevada is suffering from an economy devastated by record high unemployment, the housing crisis, and bankruptcies. Reid supporters promise to do what they can so he can win a fifth term in the U.S. Senate.

"We know that Harry is a fighter, just like Manny, and we are going to get out and get more votes for him," said Reid supporter Denise Hooshmand.

"I've fought for Nevadans my whole life, and folks I'm not finishing fighting," Reid said. First, Reid must fight the challenge of Sharron Angle.

After the rally, shuttle buses took voters across the street to Boulevard Mall to vote. Friday was the last day of early voting. Election Day is Tuesday, November 2.
