RENO -- Vice President Joe Biden is the latest big-name Democrat offering to talk up Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in his tough campaign against Republican Sharron Angle.
Biden is scheduled to stump for Reid at a University of Nevada-Reno rally Tuesday. Reid has trotted out former President Bill Clinton, union leaders and state legislators for a series of endorsements.
Biden's visit precedes a rally by Reid with President Barack Obama on Friday. Reid is in the fight of his political life against Angle, a tea party favorite who has amassed a slight lead in the polls.
She has portrayed him as a Washington insider who lost touch with Nevada, while he has deemed her too extreme to hold public office.
