In every young boy's life there's a window of opportunity to plant the right seeds and watch 'em grow. Tonight's Wednesday's Child -- Matthew -- is standing at the window.
Matthew was fascinated by the stuff he'd never seen before at the farmers' market.
Beets, broccoli, and grapefruits. He was happy to accept the gift of some home-grown pistachios, without really knowing what they were.
Matthew is good at science, likes pizza, and hopes to have a German shepherd some day.
When I asked him what he does after finishing his homework, he said:
"Usually I just go on my bike and ride around," says Matthew.
This young man takes his home responsibilities seriously...he likes country music, and needs a family that can keep him on task.
When I asked him what he would do with a million bucks, here's what he said:
"Buy stuff like a bike and toys. Would you give some away? Yeah. Who would you give it to? You."
>>>right now, Matthew lives in a group home, but he needs the attention and structure of a forever home.
