NORTH LAS VEGAS -- A drunk driver smashed into the front of a home near Casey and Revere around 2:00 a.m. Sunday.
Police arrested Steven Cole, 24, of California after the wreck.
"He had to have been doing 60 or 70 to me, and he never put on the brakes, the wheels just squealed," said witness Lou Ragland. "They kind of went up in the air, came down, and landed."
Cole reportedly lost control and ended up in Ragland's neighbor's home.
"If traffic would have been going like that right there when he crossed over this lane because he was headed west, there would have been a fatality," said Ragland.
Ragland took photographs right after Cole's pickup truck store through Roderick Plummer's home.
"You see this stuff happen on TV," said Plummer. "You don't think it will happen to you."
Plummer lives in the home with his brother, and was out with friends when the crash happened.
The car crashed into a neighbor's Cadillac before hitting Plummer's home.
"That's where we'd normally be, in the living room, and if it wasn't for that car being in the other driveway, our house would have been totally demolished," said Plummer.
The home is uninhabitable. Plummer has to wait for his insurance company before he can begin repairs on the home. Until then, Plummer and his brother will live with relatives.
"Be careful when you're coming down Carey," said Plummer, adding that it's important to have a sense of humor.
