A spirited sister pair is the focus of today's Wednesday's Child. They've been on before, so let's make sure this is their final appearance, ok?
Back in November of 2008 we met with Meleah and Delecia at Peter Piper Pizza... They were only 6 & 7 then, and the hope was to find a home for them and their much older brother, Carlos. But right now family services is focusing on adopting his two sisters, with the hope that he'll be able to visit often.
So here are Delecia and Meleah, two years older, and finding plenty to keep 'em busy where we met at the Discovery Children' Museum.
Delecia is the oldest, now at 9:
"...Is probably athletic-prone... She likes sports, uh, I think she's agile, she's physical, she's very physical," says a DFS adoption recruiter, Constance Holdip.
Meleah -- just a year younger, compliments her sister well:
"...Meleah is like a girly-girl, I think she's very sweet, she's very feminine, I think she's a pink girl...I think they balance each other very well," says Holdip.
The two are inseparable, and there would be challenges for an adoptive family.
"I think the family would have to be an experienced family. The girls are very energetic, they have a lot of issues, and what I always say is they have a great team, they have an awesome team...and it's assisting them with some of their issues, but they would need an experienced family," adds Holdip.
They need to stay together with a strong committed family:
"People who might know about some of the issues they're dealing with, but specifically a family that already have children, and already got the strong parenting thing," says Holdip.
Both girls are very excited at the prospect of being adopted...they understand that's why they're on TV.
